Last week we told you about our great Easter weekend deal that offers you a third night half price when you stay two nights with us. There’s so much to do in and around Bruton over Easter that we thought we’d put together some ideas for a weekend of family fun.
It really wouldn’t be Easter without a traditional egg hunt and there are a couple of really great options in the local area.
Kilver Court is a 20 minute drive from Oak House and is a must see if you are in the area. With three and a half acres of stunning garden, designer shopping plus a cafe and restaurant it has plenty to keep you busy. Between the 15-17 April they are holding an Easter Egg Hunt where your little ones can search for nine giant decorated eggs before receiving a chocolatey treat from the Easter Bunny! While you’re there visit the Easter room packed with spring delights and there’s even a chance to win a giant Easter Egg! For more details simply click here to visit their website. (Plus if you register your interest you’ll get an e-voucher for a complimentary tea or coffee!)
And why go to one Easter Egg hunt when you can go to two?! Stourhead is a beautiful National Trust property, again just a 20 minute drive from Oak House and they have teamed up with Cadbury to deliver Spring fun for the whole family between the 14th and 17th. The Easter Bunny will have been busy preparing hunts around the enchanting gardens for little (and big!) adventurers and leaving chocolate bunnies to find at the end. For more details you can visit their website here.
We are so lucky to have Hauser & Wirth Gallery in Bruton and once again they are holding a great event for Easter. They are welcoming back the wonderful children’s arts charity ‘The House of Fairy Tales’ to provide an interactive adventure over the weekend. ‘Playing in and around the current exhibitions ‘Elisabeth Frink. Transformation’ and ‘Djordje Ozbolt. A Brave New World’ The House of Fairy Tales and their cast of characters invite visitors on a brand new adventure, leading to surreal, befuddling and brilliant flights of imagination all about Spring – Planet Earth’s most buoyant and mysterious season…’ It’s sure to be a great day and you can read even more about it here. Plus it’s a free event so just turn up an enjoy the adventure!
All that fun is bound to leave you hungry! There are a lot of options to choose from but here’s a couple of tempting options for you!
Cole Manor Tea Rooms provide delicious cakes and coffee, light lunches plus their speciality cream tea, all served up in the tranquility of their beautiful gardens. If the weather is nice you can sit outside or if not you can enjoy their cosy tea rooms. Have a sneak peak at their menu here. We recommend the ‘Cole Manor Posh Tea’ but make sure you book in advance! This local favourite fills up fast!
Roth Bar and Grill are offering an ‘Easter Feast’ on 15th April to celebrate the lambing season at Durslade Farm. The menu will be Durslade Farm lamb cooked over the Roth fire pit for 5 hours, served up with kitchen salads, mint yoghurt and flatbreads. And if you still have room there’s lemon meringue pie for dessert! You can book your place here.
Have we convinced you? Don’t forget to mention ‘Easter Weekend Special’ in the ‘Special Requests’ section of our booking page or call: 01749 812022 to book your stay.
